Britain’s
three biggest teaching unions have revealed that teachers were awarded a record £40m in compensation last year after
assaults by pupils, injuries at work and discrimination from school leaders.
The largest single payment was made to a teacher from the West Midlands who won almost £114,000 after being attacked by two pupils as she attempted to break up a fight.
